Essayfilm
Britta's illness was called multi-system atrophy. This means multiple systemic failure. Bit by bit, all of the body's systems fail until death. She lost all her abilities: First the motor skills: writing, grasping and walking. Then the cognitive ones: speaking, understanding and remembering. ‘Once it's gone, it's gone,’ say the neurologists. In a densely interwoven essay text and with the use of few images, the film reflects our perspective on death and our changed relationship to an uncertain and insecure future.
